Mamie Louise Christmas passed on April 1, 2024. She was the daughter of Rev. A. D. and MAMIE WOODS YORK and the granddaughter of DeForest and Georgia Woods. At the 2022 Virtual Woods Family Reunion, she was the oldest living descendant of DeForest. She was 96 on the day of her passing. Please keep her daughter, Paula, her grandchildren, sisters Annie and Juanita, and the rest of the family in pray
Rosa Renae Woods (G5) arrived in heaven on September 20, 2023. Born on December 25, 1973 in the family homestead of Thomasville, Alabama. She lived and worked in the health care industry, Birmingham, Alabama.
Rosa Renae is the daughter of Charlie J.(G4) and Clara P. Woods, granddaughter of Lee Barney III (G3) and Mary Alice Woods and great grand-daughter of Barney II (G2) and Hattie Woods II.
Graveside services to be held Wednesday, Sept 27, 2023, 11:00am CT - at New Hope #2 in the "Hills" - the family grave-site where many of our ancestors are buried.
P.S. Rosa is the namesake of Rosa Woods Banks (G3) of Tuskegee. She also had and aunt "Rosa Woods" (G4) who preceded her in death.

Announcing the recent passing of Harold Bettis Jr. (G5) of Mobile, Alabama after suffering a sudden illness. Harold’s younger brother Harry Trent Bettis passed away less than one year ago. He is survived by his sisters Harolyn Bettis and Harriette Bettis Outland.

So sorry to learn of the passing of Roland “Uncle Boy” Wallace in Buffalo, NY. He was the only son of Margaree Woods-Wallace and Stratman Wallace and the only brother of Emma Wallace-Coleman and Juanita Wallace-Horn. He also leaves behind sons Roland and Ronald. May he Rest In Peace. Graveside services for Uncle Boy was held on Thursday May 28th at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton Long Island, NY.
It’s with heavy hearts that the Woods family acknowledges the passing of yet another family member. On Thursday, May 28, 2020 beloved Marcel Woods passed away in Nashville, TN. He had just walked his daughter Tisha down the wedding aisle on May 16. Our hearts go out to all of his family, extended family and friends. Marcel was the son of John D.Woods, grandson of Brady Woods and great grandson of DeForest Woods. Please keep the family lifted up in prayer and love
Gave his life in the service of our country, Ronald J.Hamilton of Cleveland, OH. He was killed in combat at the age of 26 during the Vietnam War. Ronald was a great grandson of Lee Barney Woods, grandson of Calvin Woods and son of Izalee Woods-Hamilton and Ralph Hamilton.
