Calvin & Daisie Woods

Hattie Woods Burton, the youngest daughter of Calvin and Daisie Woods has resided in Chicago for most of her adult years. She is a retired educator after 38 years of teaching in the Chicago Public Schools and as a civilian instructor in the Administration Technical School in the U.S. Air force. She was married to Simpson Leo Burton of Chicago on August 16,  ????. Of this union came: Michelle, Shirley, William "Bill", Sherri and Cheryl.

Both retired from the Birmingham public schools after 37 years of service. Carlean a teacher and Johnny a principal was also a news caster on Channel 6 and known as "Johnny Jive" on his radio show. They celebrated 50 years of marriage on October 6, 2001. They settled in Fairfield, Alabama.

The oldest daughter, Izalee Hamilton, received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Tuskegee Institute. She worked as a registered nurse in Cleveland, Ohio until her untimely death caused by an automobile accident. Her husband, Ralph, was also killed in the accident. They were survived by two sons, Ronald and Maurice.
