Rosa attended Miles College and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in education Alabama State University. She was the first descendant to receive a college degree. David Sr. received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1941 and his Master of Science in 1950 from Tuskegee Institute (University). He did further study at Fisk University in Nashville Tennessee. They were married on August 14, 1943.
David was a supervisor for the Farm Security Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture and by the International Co-operation Administration in the Division of Education, Washington D. C. He worked operational missions in Liberia and Ghana in West Africa. His career took him all over the world. He was respected by persons of all cultures and races.
Rosa & David traveled the world teaching and continuing their education in Africa, England, France, Spain, Sweden, Portugal and many locations in the United States. It can be said that the Banks' were jet setters when Blacks and Whites could not drink from the same fountain in southern America.
They had no children of their own, but "lucky Them" - during a mission tour in West Africa, they adopted a Liberian native and named him David after his adopted father - today he is known as “Junior Banks”.

David is currently a professor at Tuskegee University. He and wife Barbara continues the tradition and travel extensively. Pictured are them in Washington D. C., arriving at the hotel from the airport.
David Recently through Ancestry.com met his adopted sisters. They were separated at birth and adopted out to different families. Prior to 2018 they were not aware that each other existed. Pictured from left to right is their natural Mother Fatima, Sister Michelle, Sister Carol and Brother David.
